TVGuide NBC Planning Major Office Expansion! (via Ain’t It Cool News) This is disappointing because whenever a show becomes a franchise, I feel like it suffers. I feel like the original Office is already mining for new material and I can’t see them succeeding with another “branch”.
Comcast SportsNet or Bust
The Sixers have no national TV games scheduled this year, excluding NBA TV. They are 1 of 3 teams in this scenario, the other two are the Pacers and the Hawks. Not only have the analysts written the Sixers off, apparently TV schedulers have too.

The 82 Most Fuel Efficient Cars in 2008. These are based on the new EPA rating system which drops the numbers for a lot of cars. I was surprised to see that hybrid SUVs actually did better than smaller non-hybrid cars. My Ford Focus is ranked No. 18 with a measly 24 MPG.
All the News that’s Fit to Open Source

Baseball Pandering
The Caucus: Giuliani Roots for Red Sox. Only because 9/11 didn’t make it to the World Series this year. Someone asked yesterday, besides Stephen Colbert, were there any other ridiculous presidential candidates. My response was Giuliani.

Angels in the Outfield
NY Times: Rockies Place Their Faith in God, and One Another. Interesting read – I was worried it was going to come off like stories I have read about the Air Force Academy (also in Colorado), but really they’re just talking about hiring people with character. Related: “Since [Jon Kitna] signed a four-year, $11.5 million deal in March 2006, about 20 [Detroit] Lions have given their lives to Christ.”
Superstitious Fans
ESPN.com: 1 in 5 fans do things to avoid jinxing favorites. I thought I was weird when I avoided buying a Phillies hat during their playoff chase and their playoff series, but I guess I’m not alone.
